Ziggy Stardust didn't just play guitar, he changed the world through fashion, music, and he inspired countless people. This recipe is not a Drunken Fandom original, we found it thanks to Dangerous Minds, and its bright colors and sweet notes bring a happy nostalgia to the legendary character. Combine vodka, violette liqueur and bitters with ice, stir 30 seconds to chill. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass and top with Goldschläger so the flakes float to the bottom. Sit back, take a sip, and freak out in a moonage daydream.
2 oz vodka
½ oz violette liqueur
Dash orange bitters
Splash of Goldschläger
The original version of this recipe calls for the Goldschläger to be lit on fire and poured into the drink. However, since this recipe was created, Goldschläger has reduced the alcohol content in its product, and as a result, this liqueur no longer catches fire easily. For this reason, we have slightly altered the instructions for creating this cocktail, and have removed the cinnamon. If you desire a flaming drink, float Everclear or 151 proof rum, at the risk of flavor, and ignite. Please, always use the proper precautions when bar tending with fire.
