Marvel: Luke Cage

Strong, smooth, and more than capable of leaving you feeling indestructible, our Luke Cage cocktail was inspired by this recipe, originally created by Stephen Dennison. Place an orange wedge and a maraschino cherry in the bottom of a shaker tin, and muddle (crush) them to release their juices; don't worry, this doesn't require superhuman strength, just a firm hand. Do not remove the pulp, add ice, dark crème de cacao, whiskey and bitters--we really liked orange bitters in this cocktail, but most any flavor of bitters will suffice. Give the shaker five firm shakes in order to mix, chill, and release the last of the flavors from the fruit. This drink is definitely good enough to put in a glass, so double strain into a rocks glass over ice. Use a twisted orange peel to flavor the rim by running it over the lip of the glass, then toss it in to garnish. Sip slowly and enjoy as chocolate, orange and just a few bitter notes come together to make a relaxing drink that is sure to save even the worst of days
